Lafayette star Jedrick Wills receives Under Armour All-America Game jersey
Lafayette football star Jedrick Wills was presented with his jersey for the Under Armour High School All-American Game on Monday afternoon at his high school.
Wills, rated as a five-star offensive tackle and the 16th-ranked recruit in the nation by Rivals.com, is the top target for the University of Kentucky’s 2017 recruiting class. 247Sports’ Crystal Ball predictions have Alabama as the favorite to land the 6-foot-5, 318-pound senior.
Wills also was a nominee for the U.S. Army All-American Game but declined an invitation to participate in that event, which is scheduled for Jan. 7 but whose activities begin Jan. 1, according to Lafayette Coach Eric Shaw.
Lafayette hosts Tates Creek in the second round of the Class 6A football playoffs Friday. The Generals defeated the Commodores 50-28 in their regular-season meeting Oct. 21.
The ninth annual Under Armour High School All-America Game will be played Jan. 1 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla. Notable NFL players who participated in the game include Jadeveon Clowney, A.J. Green and Jameis Winston.
