Golfer Matt Atkins, who graduated from Apollo High School in 2009, finished No. 19 on the Web.com Tour money list, earning a spot on the PGA Tour next season. Atkins won the El Bosque Mexico Championship in April and finished in the top 20 at five other events.

“What an amazing day!” Atkins wrote on Instagram. “This is a result of something much more than one day or one season. I have the best support group around me. I wouldn't want to do this with anyone else by my side. My whole family, all of my friends, my coach, my caddie, sponsors, everyone. They're the best team. PGA Tour here we come!”

▪  Dalyn Dawkins, a former Trinity running back, caught a touchdown and rushed for another in Colorado State’s 58-27 win over Oregon State on Saturday. Both TDs were go-ahead scores and the second one, a 3-yard run with 1:19 left in the first half, put the Rams up for good at 24-17. He led CSU with 67 rushing yards.

▪  Cooper senior Lexi Held committed to DePaul University’s women’s basketball program on Monday. She averaged 17.7 points and 5.2 rebounds for the Jaguars, who fell in the 9th Region finals last season.
