The Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac/KHSAA Girls’ State Golf Championship starts Friday morning and continues through Saturday afternoon at Bowling Green County Club.

Live scoring for the event, a two-day tournament that will determine an individual and team state champion for the 2017 season, can be accessed via the KHSAA website. The KHSAA Events Twitter account (@khsaaevents) usually provides regular updates as well.

Lexington Christian’s team won the 7th Region championship, in which all of Lexington’s girls’ golf teams competed. Laney Frye, a sophomore at Lexington Christian, won the individual region title. Madison Central qualified as a team by virtue of its runner-up finish.

Maddie Cecil (Paul Laurence Dunbar), Sarah Black (PLD), Kathleen Gibbs (Henry Clay) and Kelli Harpe (Lexington Catholic) qualified as individuals out of the 7th Region.
