Lexington Catholic’s Brandon Salsman and Berea’s Dammian Stepp have been named the 11th Region coaches of the year by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches.

They were among the boys’ and girls’ high school coaches honored in each region in conjunction with the announcement of the KABC’s region players of the year on Friday.

This is the second consecutive KABC region coach of the year honor for Salsman, in his 17th season as head coach of Lexington Catholic. The Knights are 23-5 with a game left to play in the regular season and will be the top seed in next week’s 43rd District Tournament.

Stepp is in his sixth season with Berea and has led them to four consecutive All “A” Classic 11th Region titles. The Pirates are 23-6 this season and are scheduled to face Madison Central in next week’s semifinals of the 44th District Tournament.
