Kentucky’s Mr. and Miss Golf winners named, along with All-State teams
Lexington Catholic senior Charlie Spiller was named Kentucky Mr. Golf by the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association as it finalized its annual boys and girls All-State Teams on its website this week.
Spiller’s sweep of the KHSAA state, Region 9 and KGCA All State tournament championships over the last month solidified his place atop the KGCA’s All-State First Team.
Rowan County junior Athena Singh earned Miss Golf honors after her win at the KHSAA girls state golf tournament last week. Singh, a University of Houston commit, also won the Region 12 individual title.
Joining Spiller on the boys first team from Central Kentucky’s Region 9 were Madison Central’s Jack Feldhaus and Seth Barker along with Woodford County’s Bradford Lacefield.
Henry Clay senior Kylah Lunsford earned girls all-state first team honors for a third year in a row. Lunsford topped the list as Miss Golf in 2023.
In addition to its all-state announcements, the KGCA recognized Madison Central’s Kyle Congleton and Sacred Heart’s Mackenzie Moir as its boys and girls coaches of the year, respectively. Each won KHSAA team championships at the state tournament last week.
All-State team and other honors will be presented at the KGCA’s banquet on Nov. 3 at Big Springs Country Club in Louisville.
