Teams announced for high school softball’s annual East/West All-Star Series
Six Lexington high school softball players, including Lexington Catholic’s Kentucky signee Abby Hammond, will play in the annual East/West All-Star Series of games June 21-22 in Bowling Green.
Joining Hammond on the East Seniors squad will be Frederick Douglass’ Armani Happy and Lafayette’s Rylan Music.
Among the East Juniors squad will be Lafayette’s Mckenzie Harney and Lyla Hould and Lexington Catholic’s Lauren Kelley.
The All-Star teams were selected by the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association, which has been holding a weekend series of all-star games in conjunction with its annual Miss Softball and All-State announcements and its hall of fame ceremony for a number of years.
The KSCA’s Miss Softball and All-State winners will be announced in between the second and third games on Saturday. All-State selections are separate from the weekend’s All-Star teams, although several players will probably make both lists.
Saturday evening at Knicely Conference Center in Bowling Green, the KSCA will induct Mallory Peyton Cook of Madisonville-North Hopkins, Katie Gardner of Warren East and Lindsey Carroll Perkins of McCracken County into its hall of fame.
