Prep basketball highlights: UK commitment Duvall scores 20 in return from surgery
Girls’ high school basketball
No. 21 Bullitt East 60, North Bullitt 57: Lindsey Duvall, a University of Kentucky commitment who had missed all of this season after surgery to remove a tumor on her knee, scored eight of her team’s final 10 points in a come-from-behind victory. The junior finished with 20 points, including the 2,000th of her career, and eight rebounds.
No. 19 Henry Clay 49, Tates Creek 33: Alexis Lutz led the Blue Devils with 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals.
No. 22 Lexington Catholic 60, Hazard 35: The Knights outrebounded the Bulldogs 47-28, led by 12 from Caroline Osbourn and 10 from Ashley Frebis. Jay Ballard scored a game-high 17 points for Catholic.
Lafayette 68, Lexington Christian 18: The Generals took control early by opening the game on a 24-2 run. Kiara Pankins had 19 points, nine rebounds, eight blocks and four steals for Lafayette.
Scott County 73, Montgomery County 57: Peyton Riddle led five Cardinals in double figures with 14 points, and Sydney Southerland had 13 to go with 12 rebounds and three steals.
No. 3 Male 52, No. 7 Mercy 46: Iliyah Green supplied 16 points and 16 rebounds for the Bulldogs.
No. 10 Sacred Heart 80, Louisville Christian 76: Ashlee Harris and Grace Berger scored 19 points apiece as the Valkyries held on for a win against the Centurions.
Estill County 74, Berea 51: Kaley Treadway tied a school record with nine three-pointers and finished with 33 points in the Engineers’ win.
Boys’ high school basketball
No. 8 Scott County 70, Grant County 58: The Cardinals got 14 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots from Michael Moreno.
No. 2 Covington Catholic 58, Dixie Heights 31: CJ Fredrick scored a game-high 20 points and teammate Andy Flood had 17 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and four assists in the win.
