Jacqueline Coleman may soon get to spend her days governing in Frankfort, but she’ll certainly be spending some nights there.

Chris O’Bryan, the longtime head boys’ basketball coach at East Jessamine High School, has accepted the same role at Frankfort High School.

O’Bryan is the husband of Coleman, who this week was announced as Andy Beshear’s running mate as part of a 2019 gubernatorial campaign. Coleman confirmed O’Bryan’s move to the Herald-Leader.

O’Bryan went 310-229 in 18 seasons with the Jaguars. East Jessamine won a school-record 28 games in 2012. The Jaguars, whose program has existed since the 1997-98 season, have never played in the Sweet Sixteen.

Frankfort went 16-14 last season, finishing as the runner-up in the 41st District Tournament for the second straight year under Nick Barton, who was let go last month. Barton was 59-88 in five seasons.
