This week’s Rating the State for boys’ high school basketball in Kentucky, released by Dave Cantrall on Feb. 2, has Covington Catholic at No. 1. John Hardin, Bardstown, Male and Ballard round out the top five.

Ballard surged from 20th to third this week.
