Girls’ Sweet 16: Final wrap-up from basketball state tournament in Rupp Arena
Sophomore ZaKiyah Johnson scored 30 points Saturday night to lead the Sacred Heart Academy Valkyries to their third consecutive Kentucky girls’ high school basketball state championship with a 68-53 victory over the McCracken County Mustangs.
Earlier Saturday, Sacred Heart held off George Rogers Clark in a tense semifinal to reach the title game in Rupp Arena. McCracken County topped Henderson County in the other semifinal.
