Lexington Christian 72, No. 11 Lafayette 43: The Eagles started to take control of the game in the third quarter and a 16-0 run early in the fourth quarter sealed the deal against the visiting Generals.
Carter Hendrickson led LCA in both scoring (18) and rebounding (12). Kyle Rode was next with 17 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Trevor Hill hit three of five three-point attempts and finished with 14 points and four rebounds.
LCA held Lafayette to 25 percent from the field (12-for-48). The Generals were 1-for-15 from three-point range and were outrebounded 41-27.
Ross Jenkins led Lafayette with 12 points and nine rebounds. It was the Generals’ fourth straight loss, and No. 2 Mercer County is up next on Saturday night.
No. 1 Paul Laurence Dunbar 62, Tates Creek 33: Darius Williams scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the Bulldogs’ rout of the visiting Commodores. Taveion Hollingsworth added 15 points.
No. 4 Covington Catholic 66, Beechwood 29: The Colonels’ doubled up the Tigers on the boards, outrebounding them 42-21. Andy Flood led Catholic with 15 points and seven rebounds.
No. 8 Bullitt East 69, Bryan Station 62: Bailey Rakes hit five three-pointers and led the host Chargers with 21 points. David DeMarcus’ 16 points for the Defenders included four threes.
No. 22 Henry Clay 62, Woodford County 27: The Blue Devils seized control of the game by opening on a 14-0 run. T’laya Lyvers, who only played 13 minutes, scored all eight of her points in that span. Kiya Thompson went 5-for-6 from three-point range and led Henry Clay with 19 points.
No. 8 Franklin County 80, Oldham County 41: Princess Stewart and Rebecca Cook scored 16 points apiece as the Flyers cruised to a win in Frankfort. Stewart also had 11 rebounds, and Kindall Talley had eight points, four assists and four steals.
Lexington Catholic 56, Lexington Christian 42: Sarah Bonn and Jay Ballard both scored 10 points in the Knights’ win at Lexington Christian. The Eagles got 22 points, including four threes, from Sydney Weeks.
Lafayette 55, Madison Central 34: Kiara Pankins had 16 points, seven rebounds, five blocks and four steals in the Generals’ win in Richmond.
Paintsville 51, Sheldon Clark 44: Presley Chirico scored 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the Tigers.
No. 2 Elizabethtown 83, Fort Knox 6: Erin Boley went 11-for-13 from the field and finished with 24 points, 13 rebounds, seven steals and five assists for the Panthers. Jada Stinson added 21 points, and Rachel Warden scored 14 to go with eight assists.
No. 7 Mercy, Anderson County 35: Madi Woods scored 17 points, including going 3-for-4 from three-point range, for the Jaguars.
No. 12 Sacred Heart 77, Atherton 19: Grace Berger led five Valkyries in double figures with 14 points, and she also had 10 rebounds and three steals.
