Rating the State: Trinity extends its lead in Cantrall’s football rankings
Top-ranked Trinity’s 28-0 defeat of No. 5 St. Xavier on Friday night helped the Shamrocks extend their lead in this week’s edition of Dave Cantrall’s Rating the State for high school football in Kentucky.
Trinity’s advantage on No. 2 Covington Catholic grew from 0.6 points to 2.2.
The top eight teams remained unchanged, and No. 25 Beechwood was the only new edition. Central Hardin dropped out after being ranked 22nd last week.
Lexington’s newest high school, Frederick Douglass, moved up to 20th after joining the rankings for the first time in program history last week at No. 24.
