High school football players could begin signing a national letter of intent to play in college on Wednesday. “National Signing Day” kicked off a signing period that continues until Sunday, April 1.

This began the second signing period for football, which this season introduced an early signing period that ran from Dec. 20-22.

Below is a list of athletes who were selected to the Lexington Herald-Leader’s 2017 Class of the Commonwealth who’ve signed or will soon sign national letters of intent.

Please note: Some schools, such as NAIA institutions, cannot accept a national letter of intent, but some athletes listed below joined in the ritual on a purely ceremonial basis.
