Week 2 of the Kentucky high school football season continues Friday night.

Where we’ll be

  • Digital sports writer Jared Peck (@HLpreps) and photographer Alex Slitz (@AlexSlitzPhoto) head to Lexington Catholic as the Knights resume their rivalry with Lexington Christian.

  • UK football beat writer Josh Moore (@JoshMooreHL) and photographer Silas Walker (@sigh_las) head to Pikeville where the defending Class A champion Panthers host the defending Class 3A champion Belfry Pirates in the Pike County rivalry’s 73rd edition.

  • Photographer Ryan Hermens (@ryanhermens) heads to Frankfort for a new photo project as the Panthers take on Western Hills.

COVID-19 changes

Unfortunately, some games this week were canceled or changed due to coronavirus concerns. They include:

  • Crittenden County at Paintsville. Canceled. The Rockets will instead play at Union County.
  • Central at South Warren. Canceled.
  • Caldwell County at Union County. Caldwell will instead play at Hopkinsville on Saturday.
  • Hopkinsville vs. Christian County. Game postponed. Hopkinsville to host Caldwell County on Saturday instead. Game with Christian County reset for Oct. 30.
