The presence of champion turf female Tepin in the First Lady Stakes and a deep field of 11 entered in the Grade I, $1 million Shadwell Turf Mile highlight a blockbuster day of stakes at Keeneland on Saturday.

Key contenders: Undrafted won the Grade II Shakertown at Keeneland in the spring, and a victory Saturday would make him the third horse to sweep the Shakertown and Woodford in the same year. The Woodford also marks the U.S. return to racing of Mongolian Saturday, winner of last fall’s Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint here. Trained by Enebish Ganbat, Mongolian Saturday failed to hit the board in two starts at Sha Tin in Hong Kong as well as in starts at Royal Ascot and Newmarket but had been troubled by an ulcer this summer.
Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes
Grade II. $250,000. Fillies and mares 3-years-old and up. 6 furlongs.

Key contenders: Stoneway Farm’s Stonetastic, a two-time Grade II winner, makes her first start since winning the Regret Stakes at Monmouth on July 30 — her third victory from five outings in 2016. Fioretti won last year’s edition of the TCA and will attempt to join Excitable Lady (1982-1983) as the only repeat winners of the race.
First Lady Stakes
Grade I. $400,000. Fillies and mares 3-years-old and up. 1 mile (turf).

Key contender: Reigning champion turf female Tepin won this race last year by 7 lengths en route to capturing the Breeders’ Cup Mile over males last October. The 5-year-old daughter of Bernstein brings an eight-race win streak into Saturday’s test and most recently defeated males again in the Grade I Woodbine Mile on Sept. 17.
Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity
Grade I. $500,000. 2-year-olds. 1 1/16 miles.

Key contenders: Grade III winner Classic Empire looks to redeem himself for his mishap last time out in the Grade I Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga on Sept. 5 when he wheeled out of the gate and unseated jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. A winner at first asking at Churchill Downs and then the winner of the Grade III Sanford at Saratoga, Bitumen finished fourth in the Hopeful last time out.
Shadwell Turf Mile
Grade I. $1 million. 3-year-olds and up. 1 mile (turf).

Key contenders: Mondialiste has recorded two Grade I victories in his three North American starts, including a win last time out in the Arlington Million. The son of Galileo is one of five Grade I winners in the field that also features Miss Temple City, who bested males at Keeneland this April in the Grade I Maker’s 46 Mile.
