Kentucky Derby 2026 complete order of finish and payouts at Churchill Downs
A historic Kentucky Derby on Saturday saw Golden Tempo rally to win a thrilling finish to make Cherie DeVaux the first female trainer ever to train the winner.
Renegade was second and Ocelli third.
Golden Tempo ran last through six furlongs, but jockey Jose Ortiz made his move late. At the top of the stretch, only five horses were behind Golden Tempo, but he had a blistering pace down the stretch to beat Renegade to the finish.
DeVaux was the 19th female trainer to start a runner in the Kentucky Derby.
Golden Tempo paid $48.24 to win, $19.14 to place and $11.90 to show.
Second-place Renegade paid $7.14 and $5.46.
Third-place Ocelli paid $36.34.
