Eastern Kentucky University senior Kyle Nowlin tied a school record with his 20th home run of the season in a doubleheader loss at Tennessee Tech on Thursday.

In the opening game, Nowlin led off the fourth inning with a solo shot that hit the left-field foul pole. He tied former EKU standouts Lee Chapman (1999) and Clay Elswick (1986) for the most in a season.

Not only that, Nowlin now leads the NCAA in home runs this season with 20 in 53 games. Missouri State’s Jake Burger has 19 homers in 48 games.
