A former University of Kentucky basketball star and a horse racing Triple Crown winner will be honored during this weekend’s Lexington Legends baseball home stand.

On Friday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, the first 1,000 fans will receive a free bobbleheaad depicting DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins, who now plays for the NBA’s Sacramento Kings.

On Saturday night, jerseys worn by Legends players will honor 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah. Fans can take part in a raffle or a silent charity auction to win or buy a jersey.

The Legends, class A affiliate of the World Series champion Kansas City Royals, will play at home Thursday through Sunday against the West Virginia Power, an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Game times Thursday and Friday are 7:05 p.m. Saturday’s game begins at 6:35 p.m. First pitch Sunday is 2:05 p.m.

“It’s a short homestand, but one that has a lot of great attractions,” said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea.
