Morehead State announced a 2016-17 men’s basketball schedule Tuesday that includes visits to three schools from Power Five conferences and home games against five in-state rivals.

The Eagles will travel to ACC member Pittsburgh on Nov. 25, Big Ten member Purdue on Dec. 3, and SEC member Mississippi State on Dec. 22. Morehead State hosts Kentucky Christian in its regular-season home opener on Nov. 11, Northern Kentucky on Nov. 30, Asbury on Dec. 28, Eastern Kentucky on Jan. 21 and Murray State on Feb. 8.

“It’s another tough schedule, and that’s been the story of our lives the last few years,” head coach Sean Woods said in a news release. “But, we want to play against the best. We use our tough schedule to get better throughout the year and it helps recruiting, because guys know they’re going to get to play against the best in the country.”

The schedule, which includes a season-opening exhibition at home against Cincinnati Christian on Nov. 6, contains 15 home games and 15 road games.

The Eagles’ longest road trip takes them to Cheney, Wash., for a game against Eastern Washington on Dec. 13, one of 13 non-conference contests.
