Liveblog: Kentucky 62, Georgia 49
After securing a coveted double-bye, No. 4 seed Kentucky takes on No. 12 seed Georgia in a quarterfinal game of the SEC Tournament on Friday at the Scottrade Center. Tipoff is approximately 3:20 p.m. on ESPN.
Georgia has already earned two tournament wins, beating No. 13 seed Vanderbilt 78-62 on Wednesday and No. 5 seed Missouri 62-60 on Thursday. The Bulldogs are led by SEC Player of the Year Yante Maten, who had 17 points and 12 rebounds in the first meeting between the two teams. UK won that one 66-61 on Dec. 31 in Lexington.
The Cats are likely to be without freshman forward Jarred Vanderbilt, who has provided energy and rebounding off the bench. UK coach John Calipari confirmed that Vanderbilt is doubtful thanks to an ankle injury suffered earlier this week.
