Kentucky football fans did not care for my basketball column

On Tuesday, I wrote a column saying that although the college football season is about to start, Big Blue Nation is looking forward to the Kentucky-Duke basketball matchup.

My idea was prompted by Kentucky’s strong showing in its four exhibition games in the Bahamas two weeks ago and Duke’s impressive sweep of three exhibition games in Canada last week. It is Kentucky-Duke, after all. Plus, the Cats and Blue Devils are expected to be among the top national title contenders for 2018-19.

The column choice, timing and assumption did not sit well with Kentucky football fans.

And they let me know about it.

And those are just a few.

There are plenty more in my Twitter replies timeline.
