Looking for its first win in Knoxville since 1984, Kentucky football takes on the Tennessee Volunteers at Neyland Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on the SEC Network.

The Vols have now won 17 straight over Kentucky in Knoxville.

Kentucky misses chances

UK recovered a Tennessee fumble, then fumbled the ball right back to the Vols. UK recovered another fumble, then threw an interception. Under five minutes left and Tennessee leads 24-7.

Chance Poore’s 30-yard field goal blocked

Kentucky drove from its own 29 to the Tennessee 12, but Terry Wilson’s third-and-five pass to Tavin Richardson was late and broken up. Chance Poore came on to attempt a 30-yard field goal but the kick was blocked by the Vols. Story of Kentucky’s day/night. Clock is ticking. There’s 11:58 left. Total yards: Tennessee 342, Kentucky 212.

Kentucky finally gets on the scoreboard

Wilson directs a five-play, 60-yard drive to cut Tennessee’s lead to 24-7 with 1:56 left in the third quarter. Wilson hit Tavin Richardson for 20 yards on a third-and-one, then found tight end C.J. Conrad in right corner of end zone for a 19-yard score. It was a nice catch by Conrad, who was well-covered on the play. Mark Stoops opts not to go for two points. UK kicks the extra point and now trails by 17.

Blowout brewing as Tennessee leads 24-0

The Vols’ got a 59-yard run from wide receiver Jordan Murphy that gave the home team a first down at 16. Guarantano finished the drive with a two-yard TD pass to a wide open Dominick Wood-Anderson with 7:49 left in the third quarter to extend Vols’ lead to 24-zip.

Tennessee scores on final play of first half for 17-0 halftime lead

A 39-yard TD pass from Guarantano to Marquez Callaway on the final play of the first half extends UT’s lead to 17-0 at the half. Callaway made the catch in traffic in the end zone. UK was outgained 241-68 in the first half.

Tennessee extends lead to 10-0

Taking over on their own 19, the Vols got a 29-yard run by Ty Chandler to open the drive. Four snaps later, Guarantano hit Tim Jordan in the middle of the field with a 34-yard pass. That set up Jordan’s three-yard touchdown run with 2:05 left in the first half.

Chance Poore misses 51-yard field goal

Kentucky had a nice drive going until Terry Wilson fumbled a gun snap at the Vols’ 34-yard line. The Kentucky quarterback did fall on the loose ball. But that stalled the march and true freshman Chance Poore missed a 51-yard field goal wide right. Tennessee still leads 3-0 with 12:49 left in second quarter.

Tennessee takes 3-0 lead in first quarter

The Vols strike first on a field goal set up by a 38-yard pass from quarterback Jarett Guarantano to wide receiver Jordan Murphy. That gave the Vols a first down at the UK 19. Tennessee had a first-and-goal at the UK eight, but the Cats were able to hold. Brent Cimaglia came on to kick a 19-yard field goal with 5:19 left.
