SEC men’s basketball standings and schedule heading into final week

There’s a logjam at the top of the SEC men’s basketball standings as we head into the final week of the regular season before the membership heads to Tampa for the conference tournament.

Auburn is still the leader at 13-3, but the Tigers have lost two of their last three. They blew an 11-point second-half lead in Saturday’s 67-62 loss at Tennessee. Jabari Smith scored 28 points for Bruce Pearl’s club. Smith lacked support, however. Wendell Green was 2-for-15 from the floor. The EKU transfer was 1-for-7 from three-point range.

Tennessee is now 12-4 in league play. The Vols have won seven of their last eight games. They shot just 32.8 percent against Auburn, but held the Tigers to 35.4 percent, including 5-for-24 from three-point range.

Arkansas and Kentucky are tied with Tennessee after the Razorbacks’ 75-73 victory over the Wildcats in Fayetteville on Saturday. JD Notae scored 30 points for Arkansas. Oscar Tshiebwe scored 30 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for Kentucky. Arkansas has won 13 of its last 14 games.
