College basketball on television: Key ACC matchup highlights Big Monday
A top ACC battle headlines Monday night’s college basketball television schedule with No. 7 Virginia traveling to No. 10 Miami to play the Hurricanes at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
Miami is licking its wounds after suffering a 96-71 beatdown at first-place North Carolina on Saturday. The victory pushed the Heels into first place in the conference standings at 11-3. Miami, Virginia and Louisville are all tied for second at 10-4. Duke and Notre Dame are 9-5.
After a last-second 63-62 loss at Duke, Virginia whipped North Carolina State 73-53 last time out.
The second part of Big Monday features No. 13 Iowa State at No. 10 West Virginia. The host Mountaineers, 9-5 in Big 12 play, have dropped back-to-back games, 85-78 at Texas and 76-62 at home to Oklahoma. Iowa State, 8-5 in league play, is 3-4 over last seven games, though it did beat TCU 92-83 last time out.
West Virginia won the first game between the two teams, 81-76 in Ames.
