Former UK assistant basketball coach Barry “Slice” Rohrssen is parting ways with St. John’s, reports Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv.
The former head coach at Manhattan was on John Calipari’s staff at Kentucky during the 2014-15 season before joining Chris Mullin as associate head coach at St. John’s for 2015-16. The Red Storm finished 8-24 overall and 1-17 in the Big East.
“It remains unclear exactly what happened, or who will take Rohrssen’s spot on the St. John’s staff,” reports Zagoria.
Rohrssen was also an assistant under Jamie Dixon at Pittsburgh. He was 52-70 in four years as the Manhattan coach from 2006-07 through 2009-10.
