Cruse, who appears on WLEX-TV’s morning news and is the co-host with Hayley Harmon for the station’s new 12:30 p.m. show, “Live with Lee & Hayley,” had held the radio slot since the retirement of longtime host Sue Wylie in 2013.
Scott Frazier, general manager of WVLK, said Cruse approached him about three weeks ago and said that the 10 a.m. to noon slot was “the greatest radio experience I’ve ever had,” but he was becoming overbooked with his additional responsibilities at WLEX.
Cruse’s slot will be taken, beginning Wednesday, with the last two hours of the daily talk show featuring conservative political pundit Chris Plante.
Jack Pattie will retain the 6 to 10 a.m. slot, which he has been hosting with interaction from Deirdre Ransdell, who also works for WLXX- FM 92.9.
The noon to 3 p.m. slot will be filled by Larry Glover, who now has a 6 p.m. sports show on WVLK. Glover will expand his range to discuss local and national politics in addition to sports. Glover will also continue his University of Kentucky post-game call-in shows on WVLK.
Dave Krusenklaus will continue in his “Kruser and Crew” with news reporter Missy Ward from 3 to 6 p.m.
Glover’s former evening slot at 6 to 8 p.m. will be filled with a broadcast by CBS Sports’ Bill Reiter.
