A BurgerFi restaurant will open Monday across from the University of Kentucky.

The craft burger restaurant at 391 Rose Street in the revamped Coliseum Plaza will have all-natural beef burgers, fresh hand-cut fries and onion rings, and a proprietary veggie burger. It also will have the plant-based Beyond Burger, which also should give it additional appeal to the vegetarians on campus, and extra-thick custards and shakes.

This BurgerFi will have seating for 110 people inside the dining room and will be open for lunch and dinner.

The restaurant, the second in Lexington, also will sell beer, wine, margaritas and other cocktails, according to franchise group president David Rodriquez. The BurgerFi franchise owners include two-time NBA champion Mike Miller.

“As we continue to expand in the Lexington community, we look forward to seeing new and familiar faces while serving our unrivaled better burger offerings in a fun, family dining experience,” Rodriquez said in a statement. He said he hoped BurgerFi would be the “go-to burger destination for students, parents and faculty before and after a game.”

BurgerFi will open at 11 a.m. daily and will be open until after midnight every night except Sunday, Rodriquez said.

The renovated Coliseum Plaza, which is owned by Phil and Lee Greer, also is home to Coffea, a popular campus coffee spot; Coliseum Liquor; and Bangkok House, a Thai restaurant.
