Jax Burgers & Brews, a gourmet burger and beer restaurant, opened Thursday facing the lake at Lexington Green. The fast-casual concept has a menu that is heavy on burgers, with a variety of options, including lamb, wild game and vegan black bean burgers and a build-your-own menu.
Located at 161 Lexington Green Circle near Palmers Fresh Grill, Jax also features barbecue and other sandwiches and salads, and sides such as the Rings O’ Fire (Tabasco-infused onion rings) and Pickles & Peppers (country-fried pickle chips and banana peppers.)
Besides a dozen or so local craft beers and other brews on tap, Jax also features hand-spun milkshakes and “hard milkshakes,” including a bourbon and a vodka version, and a full bar.
Partners in the restaurant include Robert Langley, Gary Barr and Scott Davidson, president of Langley Properties, which owns and manages Lexington Green. Open for lunch and dinner, 11 a.m. to at least 10 p.m. Call 859-554-1095 for more information.
The restaurant is adjacent to a new weekend music event, Lakeside Live, which has free live music every Friday and Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. through Oct. 15. Patrons are welcome to bring lawn chairs but no outside food or drink such as coolers.
The Plaza at Lexington Green nearby is soon to get a Mellow Mushroom Pizza, the second one in the city.
