Three shot early Sunday morning outside Bourbon County nightclub
Three people were taken to the hospital after a Sunday morning shooting outside a downtown Paris nightclub.
The shooting happened about 2 a.m. at Club Allure on Main Street, according to WKYT, the Herald-Leader’s reporting partner. Police told the news station that a fight broke out as the club was closing. At least three people were shot and there were up to 200 people in the club at the time.
Police said two males arrived at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with injuries Sunday morning and a female was taken to the hospital by ambulance, the news station reported.
There were no fatalities, WKYT reported. The identities of those injured were not immediately available.
A stretch of Main Street was closed for several hours as police investigated.
In a statement posted on the city Facebook page, the City Manager Daron Jordan said the crime was the exception and not the norm. The statement also asked for help in catching the perpetrator or perpetrators.
“The safety of the community is a priority and it is something that I, and our team, take very seriously,” the statement read in part.
