Dancing the night away
One of Lexington’s summer outdoor arts traditions, Ballet Under the Stars, takes the stage in Woodland Park through Sunday. A pre-show production, “Tinkerbell and the Pirates”, is at 8 p.m., followed by the main curtain at 9 featuring professional dancers from Kentucky Ballet Theatre. Admission is $5 at the gate, free for ages 3 and younger. (lexingtonky.gov)

North Limestone Night Market
The pop-up street festival put on by the North Limestone Community Development Corp. features local artists, businesses, and food and drink vendors. It’s 6 to 10 p.m. along the 700 block of Bryan Avenue at North Limestone. Admission is free. (Nolicdc.org/events)

Are you ready for some football practice?
The UK football team’s annual Fan Day kicks off with players and coaches signing autographs at 9 a.m. in the Nutter Field House. An open practice on the new fields of the $45 million practice facility start at 11 a.m.
Feed your hunger for politics at Fancy Farm
Politicos from across the commonwealth will converge at Fancy Farm in Western Kentucky for a plate of barbecue and an afternoon of old fashioned political speaking. Expect fireworks to come out of the U.S. Senate race matchup between Rand Paul and Jim Gray. And of course, it’s a sure bet a lot will be said about the presidential election. Walking Dead Day
Before it was a TV show, “The Walking Dead” was a graphic novel created by Robert Kirkman with art by Tony Moore. The two men once lived in Cynthiana, and the city celebrates the series with a special day of activities. Events are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and include a Q and A with Kirkman, comic signing with Moore, a costume contest, shuttle tours and more. (Facebook.com/walkingdeadday)
Shaker Village Craft Fair
The craft fair at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, 3501 Lexington Rd., Harrodsburg, will feature over 80 vendors selling ceramics, jewelry and many other products.
