Two injured in overnight drive-by shooting in Lexington

An adult and a 16-year-old were injured overnight in a drive-by shooting in the 100 block of Eddie Street in Lexington, according to police and media reports.

Both victims told police that they were standing outside a friend’s house between Maple Avenue and North Limestone when they were shot, Lexington police Lt. David Biroschik said. Both suffered injuries that were not thought to be life threatening. One victim was shot in the leg and the other in the foot.

The victims told investigators that the shooter was in a white SUV or crossover with a loud muffler and tinted windows, according to WKYT. Some shots struck two houses on Eddie Street, but no other injuries were reported.
