Lexington woman charged with rape of 14-year-old boy
A Lexington woman has been arrested on a charge of raping a 14-year-old boy.
Heather Jean Seltsam, 45, was charged Wednesday with third-degree rape, sexual abuse, and use of an electronic communications system to procure a minor for a sex offense.
According to a search warrant filed in Fayette District Court, Setsam told a detective that she had “been allowing multiple juveniles (to) stay over at her house over the summer. One 14-year-old juvenile in particular has been face-timing and text messaging her over the past month.”
The detective said that Setsam stated that “she groped the victim’s buttock in a sexual manner,” exchanged sexually explicit photos with him via text message and had sexual intercourse with him at her home.
Bedding was seized during a court-authorized search at her home.
Seltsam pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Thursday.
Seltsam is a longtime employee of Kentucky Children’s Hospital and is on administrative leave, WKYT-TV reported.
