A man was found with a gunshot wound Monday night on Danielle Lane in Lexington, according to Lexington police.

Police received a report of a shooting about 9 p.m., and officers found the victim lying in a parking lot, duty commander Brian Peterson said. The victim, in his 20s, was taken to a hospital.

Peterson said numerous shell casings were found in the area, and several vehicles in the parking lot apparently were hit by bullets.

As of 10 p.m., police were looking for a blue Chrysler, which had been observed speeding away, Peterson said.

Lexington police said Tuesday that they believe the victim knew the suspect and had been involved in an ongoing dispute.
