Woman found assaulted, slain on Lexington’s Loudon Avenue is identified

A woman found dead Sunday morning near a Lexington railway overpass has been identified, and her death is being investigated as a homicide, according to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.

Meghan Lea Acord, 37, was found about 9:10 a.m. in the 700 block of East Loudon Avenue.

An autopsy conducted Monday in Frankfort determined that her death was caused by an assault, according to the coroner’s office.

Arrangements for Acord are being handled by Steen Funeral Home in Ashland.
