MedTech College, a for-profit medical training school, canceled all classes Wednesday, weeks after the school closed its locations in Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C.

Several Lexington students reported receiving texts that said all Wednesday classes were canceled and they would receive more information on Thursday. Phone messages left at the college, located in Coldstream Research Campus off Newtown Pike, were not immediately returned.

All of MedTech’s locations in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. were closed on Aug. 10. According to the U.S. Department of Education, MedTech was no longer eligible for federal financial aid due to financial issues, a circumstance that several other for-profit schools have encountered in recent years.

Officials at the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General — which has investigated other for-profit schools in Kentucky — were not immediately available for comment.
