‘Roe v Wade’ legalized abortion, to society’s detriment
I empathize with columnist Teri Carter who expressed the belief that the horrendous 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision, legalizing the killing of human babies during all nine months before birth, ensured women’s health and rights.
That decision defies our U.S. Constitution which states everyone is endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, including the right to life. It does not specify any age discrimination.
The court, without authority, issued that decision, which nullified all state laws which granted unborn human babies their rightful protection. It applied to all of the first nine months of his or her life. Some abortionists kill babies who survive the failed abortion.
The Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell, according to his personnel, killed hundreds of born-alive babies who survived late-term abortions by puncturing scissors through the back of their necks, clipping spinal cords. He was convicted of murdering three babies and the death of a mother, Karmamaya Mongar, and is now imprisoned.
The babies would have suffered as painful a death if he had killed them inside the womb, pulling them apart limb by limb and crushing their heads, without anesthetic. The method continues today.
The U.S. Senate voted down a bill which would have protected these innocent babies after 20 weeks gestation.
Yes, irresponsible men share the guilt and often grief when their child is aborted, though some of them coerce or force the mothers to have their child killed, often paying for the abortion.
The agony and regret many of these women suffer for years is unimaginable. “Silent No More” is an organization founded to bring peace and forgiveness to them. Rachal’s Vineyard in the Frankfort cemetery is a monument with a statue of Rachel and names of miscarried, stillborn and aborted babies, established to give mourning mothers and fathers a place to find peace and comfort after their loss.
Killing handicapped babies is extremely cruel and recalls Hitler’s horrendous killing fellow countrymen living with disabilities. One country now says it is almost free of Down Syndrome children, because they kill them before they are born. Down Syndrome children are extremely affectionate and loving; they are entitled to their right to life just as we are, regardless of their physical or mental condition.
Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in our country, killing over 300,000 babies per year. And taxpayers are subsidizing the organization’s other services.
I am thankful that Carter’s mother chose life for her and her siblings. I am sorry she was not born into a happy, loving home and hope she is happier now.
We highly commend the U.S. House, including Rep. Andy Barr, for passing the Pain Capable Unborn Child’s Protection Act, and for Sen. Mitch McConnell’s failed endeavor to pass it also.
Our pro-life president was eager to sign it. It would have prevented the excruciating, painful death of thousands of babies.
