Dakari Johnson named NBA D-League’s performer of the week
Former University of Kentucky star Dakari Johnson was named the NBA D-League’s performer of the week after averaging 19.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in the Oklahoma City Blue’s opening week.
Johnson, whose rights are still held by the Oklahoma City Thunder, had two double-doubles while the team went 4-1 to start the season.
He also averaged 3.8 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.0 steals.
Johnson scored a career-high 26 points on Nov. 17 in a 93-87 win over the Erie BayHawks.
He averaged 12.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks for the Blue last season, and earned NBA D-League All-Rookie Team honors.
