Tyler Ulis says his ‘hips are fine’ after workout with Pistons
Former Kentucky point guard Tyler Ulis disputed reports that he has a hip injury that might require surgery.
Ulis, who spoke Friday after a workout with the Detroit Pistons, told the Detroit Free Press that “I’ve never had hip pain, my hips are fine. I just worked out two times and nothing bothered me, but I honestly don’t know what it was. My hips are fine.”
Ulis was a projected first-round pick, but his stock has fallen recently in several mock drafts since Basketball Insiders reported that he has a hip injury.
DraftExpress.com has him going in the second round to the Phoenix Suns with the 34th overall pick.
Ulis confirmed to reporters that he has participated in seven workouts, including his hometown Chicago Bulls two days ago. Ulis told MLive.com that he has one more workout scheduled with the Philadelphia 76ers before next Thursday's draft.
