Watch live: 5-star basketball recruit Immanuel Quickley makes his college announcement
Five-star point guard Immanuel Quickley — one of UK’s top basketball recruiting targets in the class of 2018 — will announce his college decision Friday evening.
Quickley will choose either Kentucky, Kansas or Miami, and his announcement is scheduled to be streamed live online. UK is the heavy favorite to land his commitment, and he would be the Wildcats’ first pledge for the class of 2018.
The stream of Quickley’s announcement will be shown live on the “Uninterrupted” Facebook page starting at 6:15 p.m. (Watch the livestream below). A fan Q&A with Quickley will follow on the media service’s Instagram page.
Quickley is one of the top point guards in the country and the No. 7 overall player in the class of 2018, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
John Calipari coached Quickley with the USA Basketball U19 squad earlier this summer, and the star player has said recently that he considered Kentucky to be the favorite in his recruitment.
UK hosted Quickley for an official visit last weekend, and Kansas hosted him for an official visit earlier this month. His official visit to Miami was postponed due to Hurricane Irma and will not be rescheduled.
