Scott Humphrey out as basketball coach at George Rogers Clark
George Rogers Clark High School basketball coach Scott Humphrey has left that job, Principal David Bolen confirmed Friday
Bolen declined to comment on a WKYT-TV report that Humphrey had been fired as coach at the Clark County school.
“I can’t really tell you anything,” Bolen told the Herald-Leader. “There’s some things I can and can’t say,”
Bolen said the coaching decision was made Thursday.
Bolen said Humphrey was still employed as a teacher at the school. Humphrey was not at the high school Friday morning. Bolen said the first day of school in Clark County is Aug. 17.
“Nobody has been hired” yet to replace Humphrey, Bolen said. “The job is posted.”
WKYT reported that Humphrey, who was hired as coach in 2003, won seven district titles and three 10th Region titles at the school.
Kentucky High School Athletic Commissioner Julian Tackett said the KHSAA is not investigating at George Rogers Clark High.
