It was one of the most exciting moments of the season for the first-year program. Ten of the 14 players on Douglass’ varsity roster are in eighth or ninth grade, including Parks, a freshman. It was also head coach Shawn Ransom’s 40th birthday. The Bourbon County coaching staff passed along video of the game-winning shot to Ransom after the contest.
Ransom, a Paris native who graduated from Paris High School, was the girls’ head coach at Bryan Station the previous four seasons before accepting the Douglass job last March.
