A well-known comedian and actor in both television and film is bringing his stand-up tour to Lexington.

The “Patton Oswalt Live!” stand-up comedy tour is coming to the Lexington Opera House on Sept. 4.

Oswalt has made a name for himself across television, film, voice-acting and comedy, receiving six Grammy nominations and four Emmy nominations. He now has one of the “most recognizable voices in modern comedy,” the Lexington Opera House said in a news release Tuesday.

His acting debut came when he appeared in an episode of “Seinfeld.”. He went on to have television roles in “Young Adult,” “Big Fan,” “Parks and Recreation,” “A.P. Bio,” and “Veep,” alongside voice-acting roles in “Bojack Horseman,” “Rick and Morty,” “Archer,” “Ratatouille” and “The Secret Life of Pets 2.”

His most recent comedy special, “Tea and Scotch,” is also now available on Gorilla Comedy+, an online streaming service.

Tickets for the stand-up comedy show will be available to purchase starting Friday, May 22, at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster or on the Lexington Opera House website. Tickets will also be available to purchase in-person at the Central Bank Center Opera House on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12 to 4 p.m.

The Lexington Opera House was constructed in 1886 and has since undergone two renovations. The venue is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has hosted notable stage performers like W.C. Fields, The Marx Brothers, Al Jolson, Julie Harris, Steve Martin, Brian Wilson and Graham Nash.
