Country star Luke Bryan returning to Lexington’s Rupp Arena. Here’s how to get tickets

Country artist Luke Bryan return to Rupp Arena with a new tour, according to an announcement Friday from Live Nation Concerts.

Bryan will bring his “Proud to be Right Here Tour” to Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center on Oct. 23.

Tickets will go on sale March 13 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.com and at the Rupp Arena box office.

The new comes as Bryan is about to release his seventh studio album, “Born Here, Live Here, Die Here” on April 24. It’s the follow-up to 2017’s “What Makes You Country,” his third consecutive release to debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 and the fifth No. 1 debut on billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.

The tour will feature Morgan Wallen as a special guest and opening act Runaway June.

“‘Proud to be right here’ is a phrase from my new album’s title track, ‘Born Here, Live Here, Die Here,’ (written by Jameson Rodgers, Josh Thompson, Jake Mitchell),” said Bryan in the news release.

“From the moment I first heard it, I loved that this song related so closely to how I grew up and how I still have so many ties to my hometown (Leesburg, Ga.). It’s a connection I feel is so important in country music,” Bryan said. “I am truly so thankful to have the opportunity to make music for my fans and to look out into the crowds each night from stage and be proud of what we’ve created. And I’m excited to get on the road with these guest artists too. I’ve been watching what Morgan is building with his fans and it has been so fun to watch! I know with him, Caylee and Runaway June on this tour it’s going to be such a high energy night for everyone.”

Luke Bryan will have a new studio album and a tour in 2020. He will play Lexington’s Rupp Arena October 23. Tickets go on sale March 13.

Bryan played a sold-out Rupp Arena in February 2014 with his album, “Crash My Party,” which was the first recipient of the ACM’s Album of the Decade Award.

A Luke Bryan concert at Talon Winery in October 2015 also lead to tremendous traffic jams as fans attempted to navigate rural Fayette County roads to the outdoor venue.
