Here is a Lexington list and guide of the best weekend events around Central Kentucky on Friday, Saturday and Sunday if you are bored and need things to do from live music concerts, comedy shows by Lee Cruise, a free downtown Lexington tour of galleries and studios, theatre plays, 5Ks and fun runs and the rescheduled Lexington St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival.

KHSAA Boys’ Basketball Sweet 16 at Rupp Arena

The 104th Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s boys’ basketball Sweet 16 will continue at Rupp Arena from March 18-19. Remaining games are at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on March 18 and 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on March 19. Tickets start at $17 per game. 430 W Vine St. RuppArena.com.

LexArts Gallery Hop

Comedian Lee Cruse at Comedy Off Broadway

Reforest 5K at Hisle Farm Park

John’s Run/Walk Shop and Lexington’s Division of Environmental Services will host the fourth annual Reforest 5K at Hisle Farm Park on March 19 at 8 a.m. Proceeds from the event will help raise money to purchase trees for this year’s Reforest the Bluegrass in April. Farm Machinery auction at the Kentucky Horse Park

The 39th annual Fayette County Farm Bureau farm machinery auction will take place in-person and online at the Kentucky Horse Park on March 19 from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. The event is free to attend. 4089 Iron Works Pkwy. FayetteCoFarmBureau.com.

St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival

The City of Lexington will host its annual St. Patrick’s Day festival on March 19 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Moondance Amphitheater. Originally scheduled for March 12 in downtown Lexington, the event had to be rescheduled due to inclement weather. As a result the parade was canceled and won’t return until 2023, but other activities like arts, crafts, food vendors and entertainment remain. The event is free to attend. LexingtonKy.gov.

Run for the Gold Fun Run/Walk at the Good Shepherd School

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass will kick off its Bowl for Kids’ Sake community bowling fundraiser at Malibu Jack’s on March 19.
