‘The Judds: The Final Tour’ will conclude in Lexington as Wynonna Judd carries on with shows
Despite the recent death of Naomi Judd, one of two singers in the family musical group The Judds, the duo’s “Final Tour” will still carry on next fall and conclude in Lexington.
The show at Rupp Arena will take place on Oct. 29 after 10 other shows across the midwest and southern regions. Country music star Faith Hill will join Wynonna Judd on stage to sing some of the classic songs and honor Naomi Judd.
“What a full-circle moment it will be to end the tour in Kentucky where it all began. It means so much to have my sisterfriend, Faith, join me for this musical celebration,” Wynonna Judd said in a press release. “It is pretty amazing – all of the people who have come forward to offer up their time and their gifts. I am feeling extra grateful.”
Several other country music stars will join Judd during the tour, including Hill, Brandi Carlile, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Ashley McBryde, Trisha Yearwood and others to be announced.
The tour will begin in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Sept. 30 before concluding in Lexington approximately one month later.
“I am so happy that in this time of grief for us all, Wynonna has agreed to move forward with this tour as my sweet wife Naomi would have wanted her to do,” said Naomi Judd’s husband, Larry Strickland, in a press release.
Tickets for the Oct. 29 show in at Rupp Arena go on sale Saturday, May 21 through Ticketmaster.
Ashley Judd, Naomi Judd’s daughter, confirmed to ABC journalist Diane Sawyer that Naomi Judd died by suicide one day before she and Wynonna Judd were set to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
