Watch Olivia Rodrigo, surprise guest Tyler Childers, tell Lexington she’s ‘All Your’n’
Concertgoers at Olivia Rodrigo’s show at Rupp Arena Wednesday night were treated to a previously unannounced duet during the sold-out concert.
“I’ve got a surprise for you,” the singer told the crowd slyly as the performance headed into the homestretch of the two-hour show.
The special appearance featured Rodrigo and Kentucky-native Tyler Childers, who played two sold-out shows of his own at Rupp in December. The two sung one of Childers’ hits, “All Your’n,” which was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2020. The Herald-Leader’s Walter Tunis described the performance as joyous, wonderfully impromptu and quick in his concert review.
“I’m just such a huge fan of his and this song we’re about to sing I think is one of my favorite love songs of all time,” Rodrigo said before introducing Childers’, a county and Bluegrass singer, on stage.
Rodrigo has had a habit of bringing out notable artists for guest appearances during her shows on her Guts world tour, according to Rolling Stone, including Noah Kahan, Sheryl Crow and Lily Allen.
Olivia Rodrigo shows support for Kamala Harris
That wasn’t the only news the pop star made out of Lexington on her Guts world tour. On Tuesday night, Rodrigo showed support for Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential race on her Instagram account, which has 37.6 million followers. Rodrigo shared a video from The News Movement that showed a speech in which Harris discussed her stance on protecting reproductive rights, and Rodrigo added supportive emojis to the video.
