Ale-8 fans have spoken: Popular KY soda company making seasonal flavor permanent

Ale-8-One fans rejoice: The seasonal blackberry flavor of the popular Kentucky soda brand is being added to the company’s permanent lineup.

Limited quantities of Blackberry Ale-8 were previously released in 2022 and 2024. Lexington residents reviewed the flavor for the Herald-Leader and had an overall positive reaction.

Blackberry Ale-8 will begin gradually rolling out at select stores in April, and wider availability is expected in May. Ale-8-One fans are encouraged to check the soda company’s website to see when Blackberry Ale-8 makes it to their area.

“Our fans have spoken loud and clear,” Kevin Price, Chief Marketing Officer of Ale-8-One, said in a news release. “We knew Blackberry Ale-8 was special, but the passion and demand for its return have been incredible. We couldn’t ignore the enthusiasm. It belongs in our lineup permanently.”

Along with Blackberry Ale-8, Ale-8-One’s regular rotation line includes the original Ale-8-One, Ale-8 Zero Sugar, Cherry Ale-8, Cherry Ale-8 Zero Sugar, Heritage Ale-8, Caffeine Free Ale-8 Zero Sugar and Orange Cream Ale-8. The cherry and orange cream flavors were previously seasonal flavors, later added to the main lineup.

Ale-8-One has also previously featured peach, strawmelon and the company’s founding flavor, Roxa Kola, as seasonal flavors.
