Four Roses releasing extremely rare bourbon. There’s only one place you can get a bottle
Heads up, Four Roses Bourbon lovers: The Lawrenceburg distillery is releasing what may be its rarest bottle yet.
On Oct. 17, Four Roses will have 186 bottles of a commemorative private barrel selection that was done in honor of the Kentucky bourbon maker’s annual Salt River cleanup.
The bottles will be available in the Lawrenceburg Visitor Center for $99; each has a special label dubbing it the 2024 Salt River Cleanup bottle.
Every year, employees at Four Roses clean up the Salt River, which supplies water to the distillery.
The liquid inside is from a barrel aged 9 years and 6 months, featuring the OBSK recipe, which uses a high-rye mashbill and one of Four Roses’ five proprietary yeast strains. This recipe is one that creates spicier flavors, according to master distillery Brent Elliott. It’s known for imparting baking spice flavors, with light vanilla and fruity flavors.
