Father’s Day is approaching (it’s June 21, don’t forget), and there are plenty of new releases suitable for gifting if you’re looking for a new bourbon or whiskey for a collector.
They include spirits made from special grains as well as experiments in blending and a new premium ready-to-pour cocktail.
Here are details on what’s new and where to find it, if you’re lucky.
Green River Toasted Double Oak
Green River Distilling Co. is releasing its oldest liquid yet: Toasted Double Oak Bourbon is aged eight years in the distillery’s signature clay tile rickhouses.
The Distillery Select release will debut on June 20 at the Owensboro distillery and the Louisville Tasting Room on June 26. On June 20, the distillery will launch the new line with a daylong celebration featuring special tours and tastings, food and entertainment and chances to purchase.
Bottled at 115.1 proof, the bourbon has a richer, more concentrated expression of Green River’s core profile. According to tasting notes, it has strong fruit flavors, with notes of wood sugars and spice.
The previous edition, Distillery Select Toasted Oak, was awarded a Double Gold medal with 96 points at this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition. This year’s edition of 13 barrels spent six months in a second barrel with a light char and medium toast to bring wood sugars to the forefront.
It’s available at the Green River Distilling Co. in Owensboro and at the tasting room in Louisville for $49.99 as a 376 Ml.
Old Forester President’s Choice
Old Forester released President’s Choice Bourbon and President’s Choice Rye, the distillery’s rarest annual releases, on June 13 nationally and online at shop.oldforester.com in limited quantities.
This is the second year in a row it has been available in both bourbon and rye expressions.
“It’s always an exciting time for us to bring the next iteration of President’s Choice to whiskey enthusiasts who truly cherish exceptional taste,” master taster Melissa Rift said in the news release. “Our process of tasting each barrel is rooted in the history of this label, and this year’s release is no exception.”
Each barrel was aged between 7 and 9 years and bottled at 110 to 125 proof. Both expressions have a suggested retail price of $225 for a 700 mL bottle.
Coors American Malt Whiskey
Coors Whiskey Co. (yes, the beer maker also has a spirits division) has unveiled a limited-release 8-year-old Coors Whiskey Co. American Malt Whiskey, a premium limited-release expression made with Coors’ own proprietary malt and Colorado malt.
It’s 110.5 proof, featuring a blend of 8-year-old whiskeys. According to the tasting notes, it has a nose of fresh plum and crunchy cookie, cinnamon raisin bread, cooked Granny Smith apples and dried fruit. On the palate, it’s pear, salted melon and stone fruit, followed by fruity, creamy, lightly smoked dark chocolate-covered cherry and rich toffee notes, peat and spice. The finish is charred oak, vanilla and dry warming spice.
Only 1,200 individually numbered bottles are being released in Colorado and Illinois, with a suggested retail price of $79.99. Ahead of its release in advance of Father’s Day, it earned a score of 98 and Gold Outstanding from the 2026 International Wine & Spirits Awards as well as Double Platinum honors at the 2026 ASCOT Awards.
Penelope Bourbon Blackberry Old Fashioned
Penelope Bourbon has added a new Blackberry Old Fashioned to its ready-to-pour cocktail lineup. It’s a fruit-forward twist on the classic cocktail, blending straight bourbon and rye whiskey with orange bitters and blackberry simple syrup. It’s 76 proof, with notes of bright berry, vanilla, oak, citrus and warm spice, ready to pour over ice.
It’s available at retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $29.99 for a 750mL bottle, same as the other flavors of Peach Old Fashioned, Black Walnut Old Fashioned and Apple Cinnamon Old Fashioned.
Michter’s 10 Year Single Barrel Rye
Michter’s has released its 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye. It’s a Kentucky-style rye, with more corn and malted barley in the mashbill than in many other ryes, giving it a rich sweetness and flavor complexity that complement the spice notes.
According to the tasting notes, it has notes of baking spice, citrus and florals, bolstered by sweetness and mature oak. It’s 92.8 proof, with a suggested retail price of $210.
It’s available in June in select retailers nationally.
Bardstown Bourbon Mars Single Malt
Bardstown Bourbon Co. has released a collaboration with Japan’s Mars distilleries. For this limited release, Japanese single malt whisky from Mars Komagatake and Tsuniki distilleries was shipped to Kentucky and introduced into barrels of mature bourbon. The two were aged together in-barrel for a year.
The result is complex, with a nose of caramelized plums over roasted malt and vanilla bean. On the palate, it’s baked cherry and toasted oak, with a delicate finish.
Distillery Reserve Mars Single Malt Japanese Blend in 109.8 proof, $99.99 for a 375mL bottle, available at the Bardstown Bourbon Co. distillery gift shop and its tasting room in Louisville.
Woodford Reserve Red Corn
The latest in Woodford Reserve’s Distillery Series, Red Corn is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey made from an heirloom red corn variety grown on a local farm adjacent to the distillery in Versailles. According to Woodford, the corn “imparts robust, savory and spicy notes to the bourbon, creating a complex departure from the brand’s signature profile.”
According to the tasting notes, it has a nose of spiced cherry, green apple, magnolia, light caramel and nutmeg. On the palate, it’s a warm medley of baking spices such as clove, cinnamon and nutmeg, with pecan, walnut, dried cherry and sun tea.
It’s 90.4 proof, available in limited quantities at the Woodford Reserve Distillery gift shop and select Kentucky retailers, with a suggested retail price of $64.99 for a 375mL bottle.
And through the end of the month, Woodford Reserve Distillery is offering its popular 45-minute tasting, “An Old Fashioned Experience with Dad.” Tickets are available online.
Starlight 10-Year Reserve Bourbon
Starlight Distillery in Indiana has released its 10-Year Reserve Bourbon, produced entirely grain-to-glass using grains grown and harvested on the Huber family estate.
It’s a 10-barrel blend made from some of the oldest bourbon in their rickhouses, featuring both signature three-grain and four-grain mashbills built on rare heirloom corn and Indiana rye.
According to the tasting notes, it has a nose of dark caramel, toasted vanilla, charred oak and ripe orchard fruit with warm baking spice. On the palate, it’s rich toffee, baked stone fruit, dark honey and oak, with a long elegant finish of lingering oak spice, caramelized sugar and warmth.
Bottled at cask strength at 114.2 proof with a suggested price of $249.99, it’s available in limited capacity (about 2,000 bottles) starting June 20 at Starlight Distillery, 19816 Huber Road, in Borden, Indiana, and in select markets and online at starlightdistillery.com.
Four Roses Father’s Day Private Barrel Selection
Just as Four Roses did for Mother’s Day, the distillery is releasing a special private barrel selection for Father’s Day.
The limited release is a 14-year OBSV bottled at 128.71 proof, with notes of apricot, pear, rye spice, cinnamon, vanilla, and cocoa, according to the tasting notes.
Available beginning June 20 at the Lawrenceburg distillery gift shop, it’s $139 a bottle, limit of two per person. While it is standalone barrel, it also was selected to complement the Mother’s Day bottle. So if you were lucky enough to get one of those, enjoy them together.
Pursuit Honey Hog Barrel Bourbon
Here’s one you can deliver after Father’s Day: Pursuit Spirits, the Louisville-based craft whiskey blender founded by the hosts of the “Bourbon Pursuit” podcast, have released a first-ever collaboration with Matt Pittman’s Meat Church BBQ. Dubbed Pursuit x Meat Church Honey Hog Barrel Bourbon, it’s a honey-finished bourbon that was created specifically to pair with smoked meats.
It was created using more than 55 gallons of honey from Burleson’s Honey in Waxahachie, Texas, that was used to coat both Kentucky bourbon barrels from Bardstown Bourbon Co. and a Tennessee distilling partner’s bourbon. After finishing for three months, the whiskey was bottled at 105 proof.
According to the tasting notes, it has a nose of rich honey, juicy berries, golden raisins and bright, rip warmth. On the palate, it’s baklava in a glass with buttery pastry, chopped nuts and deep honey sweetness. The finish is super viscous and mouth-coating with bold baking spice that cuts through smoke, fat and barbecue richness.
The Pursuit x Meat Church Honey Hog Barrel Bourbon will be available in limited quantities at the Pursuit Spirits retail shop on Whiskey Row in Louisville starting July 1 for $79.99, then will roll out across Texas and online via Seelbach’s. And there’s also an exclusive launch and tasting event on June 25, with tickets available on Eventbrite for $150.
