Crank & Boom announces new location, closes Summit at Fritz Farm spot

The Summit’s loss will be Stonewall’s gain: Crank & Boom Craft Ice Cream announced Tuesday that they will be opening a new location there soon.

Owner Toa Green said that June 16 will be the final day at The Barn at the Summit at Fritz Farm.

Developer Bayer Properties said in May that it plans to close the food hall to reconfigure the space for a new use. Several of the locally owned restaurants that were part of what was billed as Kentucky’s first food hall had already closed.

Whiskey Bear, which is a bar inside The Barn, plans to remain open. Crank & Boom had kept its location open for carry out.

Green said that beginning Friday the new location at 3101 Clays Mill Road will host the C&B Summer Pop-Up Shop to serve customers while the restaurant is remodeled. The renovation is expected to last a couple of weeks.

It was the former location of Lyles BBQ, which closed in January after five years in business, including several years at that location.
